The Boston Red Sox on the march to a second straight WS Championship! Last night the Sox beat the A’s on a Varitek double. Dice K Ked 9, throwing 6 and 2/3rds innings of 2 (!) hit ball sans walk (Matsuzaka’s first walk-less game since May 07). That’s good, right? Gordon Edes, baseball’s finest beat writer, has the story. Manny Ramirez had one hit; Pappelbon got the save. Sox play Oak again at 3:35pm. Lester on the mound.

  1. Chase Says:

I’d love to say the Dodgers are going to, -and winning - the show this year… but do I believe it? I’m not sure I do as the NL West is mean, and the Red Sox are an absolute juggernaut.

Further, when is Selig / MLB going to face reality and impose a salary cap or some equalizing force into MLB? Profit-sharing is a joke. Sure, the Marlins and D-Backs can anecdotally win the WS now and again, but it’s simply that… a random one off. Maybe my love of the Pirates skews my opinion, but I want to see some parity inserted into the game…
